Subject: Ray Harryhausen
Ray Harryhausen works in special effects animation (or Stop Motion Animation) on several films including [1933] King Kong and his first colour film [1958] The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. Additional Question:
"Why Monsters?"
I believe that monsters are used because of their anthromorphic qualities allowing the animators to both humanize their emotions and movements as well as de-humanize and villanize them in other projects - a good example of this would be using real world conflict (eg: World War Two) and then represting a monster threat to the world of your animation that is clearly a representation of the Nazi Party of germany, but by not using humans to portray them they're utilizing a form of propaganda in the sense of de-humanizing them and their actions further and the audience in response feeling more intense emotion (be that positive or negative) towards the characters. BONUS FEATURE: SEEDY CUBES
You're looking for the part just after 25 seconds.
Don't you think these cubes are acting a little too excited to see each other?
Assuming all of the square patterns are animate cubes, i feel sorry for those between the offenders of this questionable 'seedy' glance.
Desired connotation: "Oh hey."
Actual connotation: "Oh heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy." *wink*
